A new solution for hair loss
January 31, 2023
Hair loss in a man, as in a woman, is often synonymous with loss of self-esteem. We naturally lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day. More hair loss is often linked to alopecia. Thus, the new hair fibers will live less long, the size of the hair follicles will be reduced and the new hair will be thinner and finer.
There are new treatments to stimulate hair restoration without resorting to surgery, such as PRP.
PRP, what is it?
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. It’s a process that uses your own blood to isolate plasma where there is a concentrate of nutrients and platelets, which naturally help the body nourish and generate new tissue. Platelets contain growth factors that are involved in stem cell migration and help activate, rejuvenate and regenerate cells in the body. This technique is used in traditional medicine. In aesthetic medicine, this natural biology helps treat dormant hair follicles, root growth and survival.
How does the treatment work?
- A small amount of blood is taken from your finger.
- This sample is centrifuged to separate the different components (red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma).
- The PRP (plasma) is extracted from the tube.
- It is then reinjected into the desired treatment area.
The results are usually visible between 3 and 6 months.
